With my Birthday around the corner, I thought I’d take a minute to thank everyone who has led me on this journey... Meeting new faces and friends and connecting with women in the industry, while also mothering my daughter Zofia has been one of my life’s greatest blessings. I feel so grateful for another year of life to explore, work hard and spend time with all those I love. My cup is full.
xx Lisette

Lisette was born September 22, 1980 and grew up in the coastal town of San Clemente, CA. A quintessential Virgo from the start, she showed a love for animals early on. Her first feline companion, a cat named Sebastian, ultimately sparked her obsession for kitties. Lisette grew up with two sisters, Julie and Stephanie. Though Stephanie passed away 20 years ago, she remains her family’s eternal guardian angel. Lisette remembers her parents hosting and traveling often, which helped shape her social nature and love for adventuring around the world.
Work has always brought Lisette a deep sense of fulfillment, so it’s no surprise she paved the way to owning her own business. Her work ethic began early at just 11 years old where she babysat and helped at the hair salon where her mom worked. She attended USD for college to get her degree in communications and … socializing. Lisette’s first step into the fashion world came through her sister Julie, who owned the boutique Julie’s Beachlife. There, Julie introduced her to one of her swim representatives, an introduction that led to an internship and, eventually, a full-time role in the industry.

After spending 4 years in action sports and high end swimwear representing Roxy and Salinas Swimwear, she craved a change. Wanting to explore more of the fashion lifestyle brands, she moved to Hollywood and adopted her two kitties, Henry and Bella and worked her way through many showrooms until landing a position at Three Dots. The role took her across the U.S. and as far as Japan, exposing her to diverse markets and deepening her understanding of the business.“It was a really fulfilling journey,” she reflects.
It was during this time that Lisette started designing her own jewelry. The spark? Her own engagement ring. Casey and Lisette met at a mutual friend's birthday party and as she remembers “ It was love at first sight.” They didn’t leave each other's side the entire night; they looked at the moon and made a date to see each other the next day. From that night forward, they were inseparable … true soulmates. When it came time to design the engagement ring, Lisette wanted something that felt personal and unique to her.
“The idea of the ring came from my love of the natural world,” she explains. “The grey, raw diamond has a very organic feel and mixing it with the very perfect pave halo, combines the ideology of perfectly imperfect, which I believe all love stories are.”

After exercising her design muscle, Lisette felt inspired and motivated to tackle more. The couple that made her engagement ring is who helped jumpstart her jewelry career (they still supply Zofia Day with diamonds!). After her day job, she would spend evenings sketching and conceptualizing designs, while they brought her creations to life. “It was a truly symbiotic relationship,” she says. “I worked for free, and in return, they produced my designs. I didn’t have to pay until a piece was sold, and for that, I’m forever grateful.”
Thanks to strong relationships with some incredible stores, she had buyers ready for her very first jewelry pieces. Her first two accounts were Fred Segal Couture and Des Kohan in Los Angeles. “It was an absolute honor, and a dream come true to be placed in such amazing stores,” Lisette beams. Through dedication, humility, and leading with heart (not ego), the brand has grown into what it is today…an entirely organic journey.
“I practice gratitude every single day, for the chance to collaborate with so many inspiring women, to spend meaningful time with my family, and to add a little sparkle to the world around me.”

Lisette made the jump into jewelry full time once her daughter Zofia was born, the company’s namesake and ultimate inspiration. Her hope was to prioritize both work and being a mom, and create a space for other mamas to do the same. 15 years in, she admits that balance is one of the hardest parts of the job, especially when you are passionate about your craft and business, but also knowing that being a mother is the most important job in the world. She offers some insight to other working mamas: “Staying clear about what is realistic and what you can handle, what is truly important, and when to let go and know everything will still be okay is huge.”
When asked what her favorite part of owning her business is and what it’s grown to be, her answer is simple: being able to bring Zofia to various work events, her pillar for true success.
