Philanthropy is inexorably linked to Zofia Day.

It’s always been about sharing the bounty, according to Founder Lisette Polny.
“We are rooted in community,” says Lisette. “Change begins where we live.”

Feeding San Diego has created a new blueprint to end childhood hunger while alleviating the stigma attached to "food banks." Combining technology with grassroots goodness, FSD connects our farms and health-minded food sources with those San Diegans who need it most. Each year, the charity outshines in its efforts to minimize food insecurity.

Devoted to cancer research in San Diego, Pedal The Cause is not just a cheerleader for research but an agency for change, raising record-breaking amounts for local heavyweights. Recipients include Moores Cancer Center, Sanford Burnham, Salk Institute and Rady Children’s Hospital.

Since 1981, Promises 2 Kids has enhanced the lives of thousands of foster children in San Diego. Mindful mentors build brighter futures for the abused and neglected children stuck in a system associated with failure. Youth are given second, third and fourth chances as their opportunities are tracked and dreams realized.

Care packages are the driving force behind Present Now. Teaming up with domestic violence shelters around the country, Present Now provides care packages when women and children need them most, having fled dangerous situations without any possessions. The packages contain essential goods and specialty items to bring  joy, comfort, and relief during crises.

With locations in San Diego and Lisette’s native Orange County, The Ecology Center provides a blueprint for living abundantly. The organic farms provide educational avenues and community centers  to help underserved groups that typically miss out on the fruits of conservation. In San Juan Capistrano, The Ecology Center transformed an empty dirt lot into an ecological oasis. Zofia Day is part of its Nourishing Neighbors program, which feeds 750 families a week.
